two times a year, before going to bed &#8211; so we&#8217;re on time when we<br />
awake Sunday morning.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Over the years, the changing of the clocks ritual across the country<br />
has resulted in friendly reminders to change the batteries in your<br />
home smoke detectors and changing the air filters in your home&#8217;s<br />
heating and cooling system. These advisories have proven to be<br />
potentially both life saving and cost saving reminders for all of us.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">2007 marked one of the most significant changes to DST in a long time.<br />
From 1986 to 2006 DST was from the first Sunday in April to the last<br />
Sunday in October. In 2007 the dates changed from the second Sunday in<br />
March to the first Sunday in November, adding about a month to DST.<br />

<td width="48%" valign="top" bgcolor="#7f8546"><span style="font-size: small;">This spring-forward fall-back practice was first proposed in 1907 and<br />
saw its most widespread use in 1916 as a wartime measure aimed at<br />
conserving coal. Despite controversy, many countries continue the<br />
time-change practice to this day.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">Here in the U.S., adding daylight to afternoons generally benefits<br />
retailing, sports, and other activities that get to enjoy a little<br />
more sunlight after the traditional work day. That extra afternoon<br />
daylight appears to cut traffic accidents and deaths, but the effect<br />
on health and crime is less obvious.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">There have long been claims that DST saves electricity by reducing<br />
your need on summer evenings to turn-on the lights. However another<br />
school of thought suggests it can actually boost peak electricity<br />
demand &#8211; thereby increasing electricity costs.<br />

<p>Now that you know a little more about DST, how does it affect your sleep.</p>
<p>For me personally, I don&#8217;t like when we change the clocks back &amp; forth. I always find that it does mess with my sleep.</p>
<p>For others, they have told me the same thing, and still others have said they do not feel a difference.</p>

It really does work, cause I listened to it for about 5 minutes &amp; I was asleep. But I&#8217;m mad at him, so I uploaded this rough draft of a video he was making. He didn&#8217;t want it uploaded because of all the mistakes, but that will teach him to take my phone away.</span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The television set has really changed our lives and many times, it has not changed them for the better.  At one time, the TV set was only in the room where we tended to congregate during the evenings but now, many of us have a set in every room in the home.  It is a constant noise that is going on in the background and many of us have become so dependent on it that we feel we can not even <a title="Free Sleep 4 You" href="http://www.thesleepsecretebook.com" target="_blank">sleep</a> without it.  The fact of the matter is, however, it might be the television set that is robbing you of the sleep that you need.</p>
<p>If you are the type of person that feels that they must have the television set on in order to go to sleep, you might be surprised to learn that it may actually be robbing you of deep sleep.  It is during these phases of deep sleep that our bodies rejuvenate themselves and our minds are able to sort the information that it has picked up during the day.  The reason why it does this is because it adds noise in the room, something that is not conducive to getting a good night sleep.  It may also be disrupting our sleep patterns as a result of the light that the television set gives off.  This can cause us to have insomnia like symptoms that we may not recognize are coming from this electronic device.</p>
<p>Some of us turn the television on at night in order to drown out other noise that may be going on in the home.  If this is the case for you, you are simply creating a noisy environment that is close to you when you are sleeping.  It is a much better idea for you to get an air filter or perhaps run a fan in order to create some white noise.  This will help to drown out the other noises that are in the house while still allowing you to sleep properly.</p>
<p>If you absolutely must have the television set on in order to go to sleep, make sure that you use the sleep function.  This is a timer that is built into most television sets which automatically shuts it off after a set period of time.  If you do this, you may be able to use the TV to help you fall asleep and then maintain your sleep because the television set will not be waking you up.</p>
