Greetings!
We are coming up on the Official start of summer; Memorial Day weekend!
Before I continue, I must say a GIANT THANK YOU To ALL our Veterans and to those serving this Great country of ours now!
If your going to do any type of traveling, this blog post is for you! Don’t let lack of sleep ruin your well deserved vacation plans!
Did you know that sleep problems tend to be more common when people travel from west to east as it is more difficult to advance than to delay sleep time?
The following suggestions might help you avoid sleep problems when traveling: Several days before traveling, try to gradually adjust your sleeping habits to the destination time zone. Jet lag can occur when people travel quickly across several time zones, causing their internal biological rhythm to be out of synch with the new destination time.
Travel can put a crimp in a good night’s sleep, but the road-weary can try some measures to fight fatigue. There probably aren’t that many of us that would go as far to ensure the we are wearing loose fitting clothes when we travel. (We should) Also, think about what you are wearing before you leave home and when returning home, pack some comfortable clothes at the top of your suitcase, if the clothes you are wearing to the airport aren’t comfortable to sleep/travel in.
When you travel, do you bring your favorite pillow? Sometimes a favorite pillow is kind of like a trusted security blanket. When we travel by car, my daughter loves to bring her favorite pillow. For others, they don’t like the hassle of carrying a big bulky square pillow around with them, especially going through an airport.
I travel light, I don’t even have a travel pillow, but it might be something worth having if your travel consists of some air time.
Above all else, relax, you are on vacation! Become stress free, that’s what we all work so hard for, is to enjoy our vacation time.
Sincerely,

PS… In the rush and stress of travel, it can be easy to forget that children get just as tense about these things as we adults do. Help your child sleep well while traveling, we recommend bringing a copy of “The Sleep Secret Audio” along. Within a few short minutes of slipping the headphones, or earphones in and listening, your children can be fast asleep. Guaranteed.

Hey, Trapper! I did not know it was more difficult to sleep if you travel east. Interesting. Makes sense.
I definitely try to take my pillow with me. I have visited friends and family only to find their pillows are flat and of not use. I love my pillow!
I also send a great big “Thank You!” to all of our veterans. I have so much admiration for you.
Warmly,
Mary Ann Pine
